Sethness Caramel Color News

Even with this continuing volatility Sethness Products Company is pleased to announce that in 2010 there will be no pricing changes on a majority of our Caramel Colors.   Current pricing for all glucose and fructose based standard Caramel Colors will be extended until December 31, 2010.  All delivered price arrangements will be handled on an individual basis with your respective sales person.

The only adjustment to our pricing must be made on our products made from sucrose. World sugar prices have hit 28 year highs recently. Drought in India and too much rain in Brazil, the two biggest sugar cane producers, have reduced crop yields for the second straight year. Sugar production forecasts in those countries have rapidly declined, which in turn has caused the price of U.S.A. sugar to rise in tandem.  

The impact on our raw material costs have been significant enough to require the following increase in our Sugar based Caramel Colors and Caramelized Sugar Syrups, which shall become effective on January 1, 2010.

• Caramelized Sugar Syrups (CS1, CS5, and CS30): $6.00/CWT.

• Liquids derived from sucrose (P285, SBDS, and SSC300): $6.00/CWT.

• Powdered Caramel Color SB702:  $10.00/CWT.

If sugar supplies loosen and market prices decline in the second half of 2010, we will be pleased to review prices on our sugar based products and adjust where appropriate.
