Caramel Color has been in existence since the 1800’s and has become the world’s most widely used food colorant. It can be found in virtually every segment of the food industry. Applications include colas, teas, spirits, soups, cereal, soy sauces, barbeque sauces, baked goods, spices, coatings, and pet foods.
Caramel Color can provide an endless range of colors in your foods, including light yellows, reddish-browns, rich browns and even black. It often presents an alternative to using certified or other colors that can be finicky in your food system. For example, it is commonly used to extend Annatto and Beta Carotene.
While most commonly used in carbonated beverages, SETHNESS ROQUETTE Caramel Color has found application in virtually every segment of the food industry. It is an exceptionally stable coloring agent, tolerant of a wide range of physical and chemical environments found in food. Caramel Color has good functionality across a wide range of pH…from 2 to 10.
With powder Caramel Color, coloring dry-blended systems becomes easy. SETHNESS ROQUETTES spray Dried Caramel Color features uniform particle characteristics and excellent dispersability. It has proven to be an effective, practical coloring agent in all types of dry packed foods, including instant beverages, spices, coatings, meat rubs and gravy mixes.
Inherently stable, Caramel Color is exceptionally easy to handle and store. Given proper storage conditions, SETHNESS ROQUETTE guarantees its Caramel Color for a minimum of two years on most liquids and three years on powders.
Caramel Color has excellent microbiological stability. Since it is produced under conditions of high heat and pressure, SETHNESS ROQUETTE Caramel Color is essentially commercially sterile. It will not support microbiological growth in its undiluted form.
With all of its functional advantages, SETHNESS ROQUETTE Caramel Color remains one of the lowest cost coloring alternatives you can choose. Combine this with low application levels, and you get economics that can’t be matched by almost any other natural or artificial color.
In this age of consumer concerns, a label can make or break a product. The last thing you need is a label that shouts “chemical” or “artificial”. The advantage of using SETHNESS ROQUETTE Caramel Color is that it can be labeled simply as “Caramel Color” or “Caramel”…a much more acceptable label declaration than most other coloring systems.

Caramel Color has also been listed as GRAS (Generally Regarded as Safe) by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.
